INSTITUTIONS :

The M.S.W programme being run at the Lorven School of Social Sciences is affiliated to the Bangalore University .

It is a inter disciplinary course leading to careers in professional social workers at hospitals, Psychiatric settings, Community development project N.G.Os, industries, banks, hospitality sector, service sector etc.,
   
M.S.W was started in 2001 with sanctioned intake of 40 and 38 were admitted. We had come out with 100% result with all First class. Two ranks at university level.
   
In 2003, the intake limit was increased to 45 and 47 were admitted with permission from Bangalore University. Again we had made a record of all First class pass. Two ranks at university level.
   
In 2006, appreciating the performance of the institution the university increased the intake to 60 students. Consistently the institution is getting ranks in this course every year.
   
The two-year programme trains students in the methods of social work intervention. It develops skills in counseling, communication besides basic practice technique

Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate who has passed Bachelor's degree in any of the subjects with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks and 45% for SC/ST is eligible for admission.
